1-2-1 Landscape Photography Workshops

Donegal

Tory Island - Co Donegal, Ireland

Tory Island - Co Donegal, Ireland

County Donegal in North West Ireland is home to some of the most spectacular and stunning scenery in Ireland. In Donegal, it is all too easy to turn a corner and while away the hours in a Landscape that calls you to explore its deserted sandy beaches, wild and gorgeous valleys, storm-ravaged cliffs, and isolated yet stunning Islands.

These one-to-one workshops are suitable for anyone who is looking to explore new photographic locations, hone their composition skills, understand light, or for anyone who is looking to kickstart their photographic eye.

During the workshop, guests will be picked up at their chosen location, and from there we will explore a number of locations in the rugged Donegal landscape, working compositions and capturing that ever-changing Donegal light.

If you are looking for a photography workshop in Ireland, put Peter McCabe at the top of your list. His local knowledge is impressive and you won’t be disappointed with the fantastic locations you’ll get to see and photograph. Add to that a helpful, knowledgeable and encouraging team captain and you can’t go wrong. I’ve been doing Peter’s Autumn workshop for the past four years and look forward to each one”

Whats Involved

At an agreed time and place, I will collect you from your accommodation in Donegal and depart to a number of handpicked locations that suit the prevailing weather conditions/skill and fitness levels.

Field days usually last approximately 8 hours, after which I return you to your accommodation.

Coffee / Tea will be supplied in the field. However it is advisable for a guest to pack a snack as we will often be in the field miles from shops and restaurants.

equipment

It is Ireland, so be prepared for changeable weather, good walking shoes are essential, and if you have them a pair of wellies (not essential). Camera equipment-wise bring whatever you want to use, however, if working with an SLR or compact system  I would recommend and wide-angle lens and a mid-range zoom, and a tripod, and any filters you like to use. For those of you who choose to work with a smartphone, I would recommend a battery pack should you wish to boost your battery level while in the field. I usually have one with me, so don’t worry if you forget one.

Fitness levels

The workshops can be arranged to meet your own fitness and comfort levels.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations with less than 30 days notice will be refunded their fee minus their booking deposit. In the event that their place is filled the user will also be refunded their booking deposit.
